Another very busy week for us here at Cambrensis. We have recently released our brand-new ‘Little Collier’ fashion film in collaboration with Soldi Films: a beautifully narrated and directed story which explains, in great detail, the full backstory to our new brand mascot. The film is narrated by a Welsh radio icon in Roy Noble and includes accounts from former art students of Mr Dewi Bowen, and a deep dive into how the design developed from a painting on a china plate into a unique and meaningful motif. The design will be used as our long-term mascot and will feature greatly in our upcoming collections. We will be donating the profits from this project to children's charities in Wales. The first of our ‘Little Collier’ design collection, the ‘Little Collier’ Tees, are available to purchase now at Cambrensis.co.uk. The short film will be live and available to view on our YouTube platform from Sunday the 16th of November.

As well as the new short film, we are hosting two pop-up shops this week. On Tuesday the 18th of November, we will be joining the Wales Fanzone at Walkabout in Cardiff city centre for the Wales vs North Macedonia World Cup qualifying group stage match. The event will run for the entire afternoon, and, with Wales’ hopes of World Cup qualification hanging in the balance, it is sure to be a well-attended event and a great opportunity to produce some moments to remember. On Saturday the 22nd of November, we will be making the journey north to Signori Menswear in Porthmadog, Gwynedd County. This indicates a future partnership between our two businesses, as we will be stocking our garments there very soon. We will be returning to Signori on the 20th of December for the Welsh menswear pop-up, where we will be joined by other Welsh independent fashion-related businesses such as Tony Rivers, author of ‘Magnetic’, and Spirit of ’58, a brand dedicated to the loyal support of Welsh football fans. Live nearby or have an interest in independent Welsh clothing design? Come along, show some support, and learn more about your new favourite clothing brand!

In other news, we are delighted to announce that we are launching the all-new Cambrensis podcast, ‘From Collieries to Couture’, The name ties in with the historic collieries of Wales and couture; meaning the design and manufacture of fashionable and functional clothing, The podcast cover is based on the ‘National Coal Board’ signs that were dotted around Welsh collieries and coal depots during the height of the coal industry. The podcast will be hosted by our presenter Brandon Richards: a Cardiff native and Welsh speaker who has invaluable experience in media, He has worked with BBC Wales in football commentary and has appeared on multiple S4C projects,he also hosted his own podcast ‘A Bit of Swaz’ with Wales and Cardiff City legend Nathan Blake. He also hosted our largely successful ‘Little Collier’ event and panel talk. The podcast aims to bring together friends of the brand to speak on their individual experiences with heritage, style, identity and everything in between. We have a number of exciting guests lined up for future episodes, each with their own unique connection to Welsh culture and identity. We can’t wait to explore these ideas and keep making exciting and engaging new content with Brandon and our guests. The start of our podcast outlines another key step we are taking towards the growth of our brand, making our content as accessible and informative as possible in the hopes of reaching new heights in the global fashion world.
