Hello everyone and welcome back to the Cambrensis blog. We are glad to announce a the first full availability of our ‘Genoa’ collection in collaboration with ‘Magnetic’ in time for our London Fashion Week exhibition. These items will be on sale at our event in London and are now available to purchase online at cambrensis.co.uk. The collection includes our ‘Picinisco’ Tee and ‘Bardi’ Jacket, two beautifully designed garments and standout statement pieces to add to your wardrobe. The garments are produced in exclusive numbers and are made with the highest attention to detail and quality of sustainable materials. Huge thanks go out to all those who pre-ordered; we really appreciate your patience and trust and thoroughly hope you love these pieces as much as we do.

Exciting times as London Fashion Week approaches. Our Cambrensis X Magnetic: ‘Genoa’ Exhibition, hosted at the London Welsh Centre and during Wales Week London, is set up to be a brilliant event celebrating Welsh culture and fashion, welcoming a wide mix of fashion-minded individuals, long-time supporters, friends of Cambrensis, and many more set to attend. Of course, a huge thanks goes out to each of our sponsors, without whom none of this would be possible, and we are so grateful for the continued support shown by Aspire Merthyr Tydfil, Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council, Penderyn Distillery, Penhill Jones Property, and GRJ Interiors Ltd.

The event will include: a DJ playing classic Italian house music; an in-depth, curated exhibition of our ‘Genoa’ collection and archive Cambrensis garments with a panel talk led by Brandon Richards (host of our ‘From collieries to couture’ podcast); featuring founder Ioan Bowen-Pickett and Tony Rivers of ‘Magnetic’; a pop-up stall including our ‘Genoa’ collaboration and many more popular garments from other collections; and the official premiere of our ‘Genoa’ fashion short film. This film has been a work in progress for a long time, and we are absolutely delighted to be able to share this unique project with everyone, highlighting the strong Italian Welsh communities in South Wales and the timeless style of our ‘Genoa’ garments. With thanks to all involved at Viazzani’s Station Café in Merthyr Tydfil for allowing us to shoot the film on the premises, and to BAFTA Cymru-winning actress Donna Edwards for providing a voiceover to tie the film together.

We are so pleased to have Donna on board as a part of this project, not only a former employee of Viazzani’s and long-time valleys resident, she is well known in Wales for roles in hit TV shows such as ‘Gavin and Stacey’, ‘Pobl y cwm’ and many other shows held dear in the hearts of people across Wales and beyond, providing valuable insight into working-class life in Merthyr Tydfil and the vibrant culture that this post-industrial town continues to produce.

All in all, very exciting times for us here at Cambrensis. We are so happy to be able to bring ideas like this to life and are massively looking forward to our event in London. We absolutely cannot wait to share an evening of fashion and culture with all those set to attend, and we hope this can be the start of more events like this. Thank you to all friends and customers of the brand who make it possible to live out our dream every single day.

Diolch yn fawr iawn - Thanks for reading the Cambrensis blog.
